Calming Childhood Chaos in the Waiting Room and Dental Chair: Love and Logic in the Office and at Home - Foster W. Cline, M.D.
In and out of the office; around the house and in the dental chair, this presentation will focus on universally and immediately applicable tools and techniques that best insure responsive and responsible behavior from children and teens.
The focus will be on methods that best insure respect for the dentist, while minimizing back talk and poor dental care. The methods covered may be generalized to all types of self destructive behavior by children and teens.
While the subject is serious, all professionals will find this workshop enlightening and entertaining with very high take-home-value for chair, waiting room and home. Come only if you dare to laugh while you learn.
Topics will include: talking to parents about how to deal with their child’s dental and orthodontic care; responding effectively to difficult children and their unreasonable parents; how to handle the common problems of including, negative responses to health care school and homework; guidelines for handling rewards and consequences; and responding effectively to teen challenges in and out of the dental chair.
