Miss Lori Makes a Pitch for Children's Oral Health

Lori Holton Nash, a children's television host known to her fans as "Miss Lori," recorded a Public Service Announcement on behalf of Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children: The Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The 30-second public service announcement has been distributed to television stations around the country in conjunction with 2008 Children's Dental Health Month. Miss Lori stated that dental disease is the most prevalent children's chronic disease, and that oral and systemic health are related. She advocated regular dental care, a healthy diet and fluoridated water. She also encouraged viewers to visit the Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Web site to help children build a lifetime of healthy oral care habits.
